Images of churches in Allendale County, including 2 exterior views of First Baptist Church, showing brick structure with multi-story corner steeple with entrance doors, open bell tower, and rounded arches, "demolished ca. 1966"; Swallow Savannah United Methodist Church, white frame structure, center steeple with entrance door, bell visible in short tower, pointed Gothic arches over door and windows, "organized ca. 1815." Other churches documented include exterior view of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, showing brick structure with double doors with strap hinges, steeply pitched roof, with crosses flanking the door and on roof, and with half-timbered effect in gable end; Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, showing brick structure with simple buttresses, steeply pitched roof, Gothic-arched door opening, and entry porch showing elements of Stick style. Also including Allendale Presbyterian Church, a wood frame structure with two front doors, herring-bone patterns in siding and on pediment of entry porch, which is flanked by shuttered, six-sided windows; small bell tower set at angle projects from gable.
